Radon Mitigation
Once it is determined that radon mitigation is warranted, there are a number of things you can do to reduce radon levels to an acceptable level. Regardless of the chosen option, the theory is simple physics. A negative pressure is applied to the sub-slab of the residence or facility using a fan in a closed system. A lexan sump cover is used for facities with a sump. The air is removed through this system and allowed to vent above grade and away from the facility. This process of radon reduction ensures radon gas never even enters the facility. What you are left with is background radon levels, which is found naturally in our air (Radon [Rn] is a naturally occuring noble gas element heavier than air).
How much and how long will this process take? Radon Testing is conducted in real-time (2 days) using a solid state Continuous Radon Monitor and costs $100.00. A Mitigation system installation takes about two or more days to complete and costs $1200-2500 depending on complexity. A Written estimate (free) and report shall be provided. This report chould be used in a future sale to show your home has been made RADON SAFE!!! (Actual Projects Below)
